Photo Gallery 2 - Renaissance Evening

On Sunday 7 June 2009 the European Society of Anaesthesiology invited all delegates to a Renaissance Evening at the beautiful grounds of the main state university of Milan Università degli Studi di Milano.
Delicious Italian specialities were served from the generous buffet tables, while the exuberant performance of renaissance singers, dancers and jugglers transferred the attendees back in time to the height of the renaissance.

Università degli Studi di Milano

The beautiful main building was constructed in 1456 by the Duke Francesco Sforza as one of the first European “Hospitals” to treat acute critically ill patients; the Ospedale Maggiore, Magna Domus Hospitalis or Ca’ Granda. Today it is part of the State University of Milan but you can still find some of the relics of its medical and sanitary history.
